Contract type Fixed Term Contract
Working pattern Part time
Salary £37345 to £42036 pro rata per annum
Closing date for applications 15-Sep-2019

An exciting one-year fixed-term contract role (to start 01 January 2020) has become available to support the development of Early Career Research Staff at the University of Bristol. You will be joining the Academic Staff Development (ASD) team and will use your knowledge and expertise to design, implement and project manage development interventions, events and projects. The work will include determining measures of success and evaluating the impact of any interventions and will also include supporting the recruitment and development of our Vice Chancellors Fellows and may contribute to other areas of the team’s wider research staff development remit.

You will be reporting to the Head of Academic Staff Development and working alongside other staff development officers in the team drawing on their expertise supporting and developing the University research community. You will also liaise closely with the Research Enterprise Development (RED) team to design, implement and project manage development interventions, events and cohort activities.

You will have a demonstrable track record of designing and delivering development interventions and the ability to influence and confidently communicate with senior managers and other stakeholders across the University. You must have strong project management skills, a well-developed understanding of the academic environment, research staff and their development needs and the research environment at Bristol.

Strong collaboration and consultation skills are required as is the ability to build networks across the organisation. Knowledge and/or experience of mentoring and recruitment best practice would be an advantage.

Please note that the nature of the work means that it could be delivered in conjunction with ongoing researcher development activities, working interdependently with the existing team. It could also be done as a job share.
