In recognition of the significant changes taking place in the external regulatory environment, we are seeking to appoint a Head of Governance and Assurance. This new role, which will report to the University Secretary, will be responsible for and provide strategic direction to the development of the University’s governance and assurance framework.

You will focus upon the provision of leadership and accountability for governance and audit across the institution and play a significant role in shaping structures and systems to support these processes. Your considerable knowledge of higher education governance within the UK and experience of managing a service delivery operation will enable you to engage and provide advice to stakeholders within the institution and externally, including the Chair of Governors, Vice Chancellor, University Secretary and members of the Executive Board (amongst others).

With line management responsibility for a small team of professionals, you will ensure that the University’s governance supports compliance, reduces administrative burden and is aligned with modern governance best practice.
