Position Description

The Harvard Kennedy School invites applications for a full-time, tenure track position in comparative politics. The search is open in terms of subject matter and global region, but we particularly welcome applications from scholars whose work advances clear and compelling perspectives on problems of governance, political institutions, and political behavior in Latin America, Eastern Europe, Asia, or Africa. The ideal applicant will combine mastery of social scientific methods with demonstrated expertise in a particular country or region, including knowledge of local languages, cultures, and customs. Qualifications include a doctorate in political science, sociology, comparative law, or allied field, a strong commitment to producing rigorous research, excellent teaching skills, and a genuine interest in engagement with public policy and with the world of practice. This search focuses on candidates eligible for appointment as assistant or (untenured) associate professors. Applicants should submit a research statement, a description of past or planned teaching (along with teaching evaluations, if available), C.V., writing samples, and three letters of recommendation at http://academicpositions.harvard.edu/postings/9163.
