JOB OPPORTUNITIES: POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS

Preamble

The Department of Architecture at the National University of Singapore invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral fellowship. The fellow will be bBased in the HTC (History, theory and criticism) cluster of the Department of Architecture and, the candidate will be working with Prof. Ho Puay Peng, A/Prof. Chang Jiat Hwee and Dr. Lee Kah Wee on a research project titled “Connected Histories, Cosmopolitan Cities: Towards Transcolonial and Transnational Architectural and Urban Histories in Asia, 1800s to 1980s.” The collaborative fellow will work with the above-mentioned colleagueswill include to organisinge a conference, developing related publications and a larger grant application. 

Applicants must hold a doctorate (or be nearing completion) in architecture, urban studies, history or related fields by the start of the appointment. We seek applications from scholars with expertise on the transcolonial and/or transnational history of built environment in Asia in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Competitive applicants will have a strong research profile and proven record of historical research in Asian contexts. The fellow will also be given time and support to pursue his or her own intellectual interests and produce exciting interdisciplinary research.
