The University of Bristol is actively seeking to appoint a talented Assistant Director (Content) & Deputy Director of Library Services.
Reporting to the Director of Library Services and working in close collaboration with the senior team, the role holder will lead a significant operational and financial portfolio which underpins the effectiveness of Library Services. Line management responsibility includes digital library initiatives, cost effective content procurement, access to and management of our library collections across the estate. The successful candidate will have considerable knowledge of contemporary developments and a proven track record in implementing creative initiatives in these areas.

As the post is the standing Deputy for the Director, the ideal candidate will also have experience of senior management and demonstrate leadership, potential and career ambition to go on to lead at service-level.

The post holder will develop effective working relationships with the rest of the senior Library Services team. You will demonstrate the ability to think and act strategically, show evidence of effective communication and people skills to lead others through change, be strong on planning and organising, be highly numerate, structured and logical in your approach.

You will join the University at an exciting time when the Library is developing its estate plan including a new University Library and pushing forward on digital transformation of services and collections.

This is a senior leadership role that will help define, drive and deliver these initiatives.
