Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in Elderly Mental Health in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration (Ref.: 494319), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

The Department is conducting an elderly mental wellness project in collaboration with other NGO partners in community elderly services/mental health. It aims at developing a viable and sustainable best practice model to promote elderly mental wellness and prevent elderly depression in Hong Kong.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Statistics, Social Sciences, or other related discipline.  They should have proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese); excellence in analytical evaluation and generation of practical solutions; familiarity with advanced quantitative and qualitative statistical analyses in social sciences research; and ability to work independently and as a team.

The appointee will assist Project Directors in planning, managing, coordinating, and implementing research activities on elderly mental health services; oversee data collection, data analysis and drafting reports; supervise Research Assistants; and perform any other relevant tasks as assigned. There will be ample opportunities to work with research professionals, mental health professionals, as well as stakeholders in the local community.
