This is evidenced in the teaching and research undertaken by the team. The clinical psychology programme sits within the Department of Psychological Interventions which also provides IAPT training for the local communities.

Are you an experienced clinical psychologist and would you like to develop your academic career; contributing to teaching on the clinical psychology programme at University of Surrey? If so, we are looking for someone to join the programme on a part-time basis (three days per week); providing the perfect opportunity for the right candidate to continue their clinical work whilst also helping to develop the knowledge and skills of trainee clinical psychologists. This role is part-time, the successful candidate will be responsible for the design and delivery of lectures in their area of expertise. Other responsibilities will include being a clinical tutor to a number of trainees which will involve liaising with placement supervisors, reviewing clinical competencies and supporting the trainees’ professional development as a clinician. Additionally you will be a research supervisor for a number of trainee major research projects. As this is a senior role in the team we will play to your strengths and provide you with a leadership role on the team.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced clinical psychologist, who has a strong desire to pursue a career in education. The successful candidate will also demonstrate themselves to be an autonomous, motivated individual who is able to act on their own initiative. A willingness to travel in the local area and experience of working in the NHS is required. Accreditation with either the Association of Family therapy, BABCP or holding the Qualification of Clinical neuropsychologists would be desirable.

The School is currently undergoing a major refurbishment to enhance our environment including the on-site laboratories for EEG, exploration of physical functioning through the use of physiological and biofeedback technologies. There is shared access to Functional magnetic resonance imaging facilities via the CUBIC consortium and an excellent Babylab with eye-tracking facilities.
