This post offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled statistician with experience handling large datasets, to join the Bristol Medical School Musculoskeletal Research Unit as part of the newly awarded Versus Arthritis funded study: REducing unwarranted variation in the Delivery of high qUality hip fraCture services in England and Wales; the REDUCE study. Working within the multi-disciplinary study team, the post holder will be expected deliver high quality and rigorous research towards improving patient outcomes after hip fracture. This work will include analysis of the National Hip Fracture Database and Hospital Episodes Statistics to understand what hospital-level organisational factors are responsible for unwarranted variation in fracture care pathways and hence patient outcomes across the country.

Candidates should have a PhD (or equivalent considerable experience) in a discipline of relevance to statistics. We are particularly interested in appointing someone with specific knowledge and demonstrable experience of handling large and complex datasets.
