We are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic individual to cover maternity leave as a Research Support Assistant in the laboratory of Dr Ashley Toye in the School of Biochemistry. Funding is available for 1 year in the first instance.

The Toye laboratory studies erythrocyte biology and erythropoiesis in health and disease. In particular the lab is interested in the efficient production of erythrocytes (red blood cells) and their maturation, produced by culturing stem cells from human peripheral blood from donors or erythroid cell lines.

The primary responsibilities of the role will be to help maintain smooth running of the laboratory and provide research support for a busy laboratories ongoing research multiple research projects.

This position would particularly suit a graduate in Biochemistry, Cell Biology or a related subject.
