Job description

The Centre for Experimental Medicine is an interdisciplinary research centre which is committed to the highest quality scientific endeavour, with over 250 basic and clinical scientists working on site.  Our mission is to understand the mechanisms ofdisease and use that understanding to develop innovative new treatments and therapies to improve patient outcomes.  We are based in Belfast in the award winning Wellcome-Wolfson Institute for Experimental Medicine.

We are recruiting for a Research Fellow in Bioinformatics who will be a highly productive, ambitious and collaborative member ofthe Gene Regulation Group led by Dr. Vijay Tiwari in the Centre for Experimental Medicine. The position will contribute to internationally competitive research on epigenetic regulation of cell-fate specification during development. The group employs high-throughput epigenomics assays such asChIP-seq and RNA-seq in combination with developmental biology and cutting-edge epigenetics and molecular biology tools. The resulting data sets are analyse dusing computational and systems biology approaches to generate comprehensive models of epigenetic regulation of gene expression during embryonic development. The successful applicant will have responsibilities in independent research, supervision, planning, day-to-day lab management, collaborations and outreach.
