Northumbria University seeks to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Ecology and/or Remote Sensing within the Department of Geography and Environmental Sciences.
Working within the Department of Geography and Environmental Sciences, you will contribute to an area of physical geography and environmental sciences to further enhance research, enterprise and teaching. We invite high-quality applications from candidates who either align with our areas of existing strength, or can support us in growing capacity in allied areas. We particularly welcome applications in the fields of ecology and/or remote sensing, however, candidates with expertise in other areas within environmental sciences and physical geography will also be considered.
The successful candidate must hold a first degree and be qualified to doctoral level in a relevant discipline, with specialist knowledge gained through research activity, professional practice or consultancy. A proven ability to deliver high quality research and teaching is essential, together with an appropriate publication profile and track record of bidding for external income. The Department is home to two research groupings within physical geography and environmental sciences: the Environmental Geochemistry and Ecology Research Group, and the Cold and Palaeo Environments Research Group, which connect colleagues researching in these areas from across the University and elsewhere.
