We are seeking 3 motivated and professional individuals to join Computing and Information Services (CIS). You will work as an IT Apprentice with responsibility for delivering IT Services to Staff, Students and Visitors. As Durham University delivers against its ambitious strategy for 2017-2027 this is an exciting opportunity to meet the needs of the modern institution. In your role as IT Apprentice, you will work alongside various team members across different functions within Computing and Information Services (CIS). Your day-to-day role initially will revolve around the service desk and learning to classify, prioritise, respond to and manage support requests. As you progress and gain more knowledge and experience you will rotate amongst support functions within CIS; these can include Desktop Support, Network Support, IT Security, Web Services. Becoming an IT Apprentice at Durham University is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience and an industry recognised IT qualification (IT Infrastructure Technician Level 3)

Previous IT Apprentices who have been successful have gone on to become permanent members of staff in the following areas; IT Service Desk, Desktop Support, Network Support, Field Team Support.
