The department is noted for our strengths in creative and critical work across a wide range of media and different technologies from celluloid to television to digital and immersive. Our staff include distinguished writers on film, television, and the creative industries alongside internationally recognised creative professionals. The department champions interdisciplinary work across the arts, humanities, and sciences, exemplified in the StoryFutures project which combines new modes of storytelling, value chain experts and psychology researchers on audience behaviours.
We now wish to appoint an outstanding Head of Department to lead research, education, and interdisciplinary work at a key stage of our development. As we embark on a period of major investment in this area it is essential our next Head continues our immersive and creative shift to digital and recognises and exemplifies the importance of 'creative entrepreneurship’ in all aspects of the department's portfolio.
