About the role

The Director, Property Services leads a team in the delivery of client-focussed property services to the University community. The Director is responsible for strategic and operational planning relating to University facilities in close consultation with the University’s Executive and other key stakeholders. The Director implements current and relevant policies, procedures, performance standards and systems that ensure the University’s property services are sustainable and add value.

Property Services is responsible for providing: Capital and Minor works; Maintenance - corrective, preventative and reactive; Refurbishments; Space planning and management; Statutory testing and inspections; Disaster management; Emergency management; Fire safety; Cleaning; Pest management; Security; Parking; Pool vehicles; Waste and recycling; Water and energy management; Grounds development and maintenance; Stores receipt and dispatch; Chemical storage and disposal.

The Property Services team employs over 20 staff and is responsible for the strategic planning and operational management of the University’s infrastructure and related services. Property Services manages a large number of contractor service providers that aid in the delivery of services. Property Services is responsible for managing the University’s portfolio of properties valued at over $500 million and encompassing over 40 buildings across the University’s campuses and sites.

About you

We are seeking applications from experienced property and facilities managers with qualifications in built environment, engineering or project management. You will have extensive management experience and be an inspiring leader with a proven track record of effectively engaging, motivating and developing teams to enhance service delivery and drive continuous process improvement practices.

You will have demonstrated success managing projects and incorporating strategic planning principles in the operational management of facilities and services.

With a strong commitment to WHS, you will have a proven record of effective employee and stakeholder engagement that aligns with best practice principles.

Campus location

The successful candidate may choose to be located at either the Lismore or Gold Coast campus. For a Gold Coast campus appointment, attendance at the Lismore campus may be required up to 3 days each week.
