The CUHK Business School is a leading business school and a pioneer in business education in Hong Kong. Among all the master’s programmes offered by the School, the full-time MBA is a highly selective programme and is ranked globally. The students are an internationally diverse group of highly motivated professionals. The part-time MBA programme caters to the needs of working professionals in Hong Kong and southern part of China whose needs are centred on leadership development. The School has also recently launched a pre-experience management programme, the Master of Science in Management (MiM) programme, to equip young graduates with skills in digital economy and innovation. With a variety of background and academic interest, these students have high expectations on the learning experience and professional development during and beyond their journey of studies.

The CUHK Business School is recruiting a high calibre candidate for the post of Administrative Director (Graduate Career Management). Applicants should have (i) a Master’s degree, preferably an MBA; (ii) a minimum of fifteen years’ work experience, including experience in career advising, executive coaching, or corporate recruitment; (iii) fluency in English, and the ability to communicate in Putonghua is an advantage; (iv) the ability to listen and communicate effectively, and to maintain positive rapport with a diverse group of high performing students and graduates, and to support them in achieving their career goals; (v) excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills to interact and form lasting relationships with corporates and senior business leaders locally and internationally; (vi) demonstrated good team management and organisation skills to lead dynamic teams; and (vii) the ability to work independently with minimum supervision to deliver results while being an effective contributor as part of a close-knit team environment. Working at flexible hours and travelling will be required.

Reporting to the Director of MBA Programmes, the Administrative Director supervises specialised teams in the development and delivery of a comprehensive career opportunities and development programmes, with the goal of supporting graduate students in attaining their career goals and achieving high student employment metrics. Main duties include (a) formulating strategies and implementing action plans to enhance career development of graduate students and recent graduates through, for example, career counselling/workshop/talks, internships, business consultancy projects, soft skills training, company talks, Alumni Mentorship programmes, etc.; (b) developing placement networks and opportunities in the region, especially mainland China, for graduate students and recent graduates; (c) leading dynamic Career Management Team and Graduate Career Development Team to support graduate students and recent graduates; (d) working closely with the Marketing and Students Recruitment Team in the screening and selection of MBA candidates; (e) assisting in developing a career management strategic plan for the rapidly expanding master’s programmes; and (f) collaborating with other offices within the School in building career and networking opportunities for the master’s programmes, etc.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for two years commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
