BUSINESS OPERATIONS AND ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE (A/R) MANAGEROpen Learning, to manage a complex set of billing and payment transactions.  Will make processes more efficient and scalable while minimizing operational risk, assist with negotiating and executing B2B contracts, and ensure compliance with internal policies.  Responsibilities include managing invoicing and revenue recognition of customer contracts; developing policies, processes, and controls designed to facilitate operational efficiencies and scalability of invoicing and payments processing and monitoring; collaborating with internal stakeholders (sales, marketing, customer service, engineering) to implement Salesforce; helping with the prioritization and rationalization of requirements to best support invoicing and other AR needs; assisting with developing contractual payment terms, payment schedules, and termination terms in order to minimize exposure; preparing reports; managing collections and customer billing inquiries and disputes; overseeing/processing account reconciliation; liaising with MIT’s central finance office; training and supervising staff; and handling special projects as needed. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance, accounting, or business administration; at least five years' accounting/finance operations experience; discretion and good judgment with confidential information; commitment to delivering a first-class customer experience; excellent analytical, problem-solving, financial troubleshooting, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills; demonstrated knowledge and understanding of proper accounting treatment for A/R transactions and activities; meticulous attention to detail; experience working with hosted and cloud-based financial applications; and advanced-level Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills. Must be able to work independently and contribute to team efforts; meet strict deadlines; identify problems, engage stakeholders, and employ data to develop and secure the endorsement of successful solutions; and operate effectively in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.  Experience automating financial processes a plus. Job #17252-P
