Queensland Genomics

Queensland Genomics is a $25 million, 5-year Advance Queensland initiative. Its focus is on health research implementation, and on accelerating the translation of medical genomics into standard care, identifying the challenges and solutions, and evaluating the benefits for Queenslanders.

Queensland Genomics is a collaboration that brings together Queensland Hospitals and Health Services with medical research institutes and universities to demonstrate the value of genomics in everyday healthcare, with the ultimate goal of improving the health of Queenslanders.

The University of Queensland has been chosen to host Queensland Genomics with Queensland Genomics working collaboratively with all universities in the State, key Queensland-based research organisations, the Queensland Hospital and Health Services, private health providers and associated health organisation throughout the State.

The role

The Project Officer will provide ongoing support to the Queensland Genomics Round 2 Clinical Projects and the initiatives within the Round 2 Capability and Infrastructure Work Program. Through active engagement with the projects teams, the Project Officer will provide support in collecting and reporting data on project progress and quality against the agreed milestones and standards, and in supporting the necessary intersection of project deliverables with other projects within the program of work.

The role will also assist in establishing and coordinating the Queensland Genomics Knowledge Network. The Queensland Genomics Knowledge Network will support clinicians across the State to increase their knowledge in genomics.

The person

Applicants should possess a degree (preferably in science, or other health-related fields, or business/project management) with subsequent relevant experience in project administration/management; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training. Experience in health care or higher education is essential, as is excellent written and oral communication skills. Those wishing to apply must have a desire to improve patient care and health systems and an ability to work collaboratively to achieve these outcomes.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

Remuneration

This is a fulltime, fixed term appointment at HEW Level 6 up to 31 December 2019 with a possibility for extension. The remuneration package will be in the range $77,400 - $83,267 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 9.5% (total package will be in the range $84,753 - $91,177 p.a.).
