About the role

  • $75K - $100K plus 9.5% Superannuation and annual leave loading
  • Fixed Term – 1 year with potential for extension to 2 years
  • Full-time (35 hours per week)

The role of the Postdoctoral Fellow is to contribute to the research activities of a team of Cognition researchers in the School of Psychology at UNSW. The team includes Professor Ben Newell, Professor Brett Hayes, Associate Professor Danielle Navarro and Associate Professor Chris Donkin, who each run their own lab, but also collaborate on projects, grants, and weekly meetings. We are seeking up to four postdoctoral fellows, and each individual would focus on advancing the goals of a particular ARC Discovery Project Grant, while leaving open the possibility of wider collaboration.

About the successful applicant

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Completion, or close to completion of a PhD in Psychology, Cognitive Sciences, Decision Sciences or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated expertise in experimental design and statistical analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering high quality project outcomes in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting research, including preparing manuscripts, abstracts and grants and presenting research activities at seminars and conferences.
  • Strong computational and data modelling skills.
  • High level analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of the relevant literature domain is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
