ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, WORKPLACE LEARNING COLLABORATIVE, Open Learning-Abdul Latif Jameel World Education Lab/J-WEL Workplace Learning Collaborative, to lead membership development and community building and support, administer funding and status reporting processes for the Workplace Learning research grant program, organize and promote large membership meetings such as J-WEL week, and support program development and research activities.  Responsibilities include helping to develop, market, and deliver the J-WEL Week program and other Workplace Learning activities/events; managing the J-WEL Workplace Learning Advisory Committee; supporting/promoting collaboration across J-WEL Collaboratives and MIT Open Learning units; assisting with drafting and preparing materials, e.g., concept notes, reports, briefs, and presentations; identifying potential members in the workplace learning or workforce development space, understanding their needs, and exploring mutual benefits of J-WEL membership and other means of working together; building and maintaining knowledge of MIT educational programs/activities/resources that match the needs of the membership community; conducting workplace and workforce learning research; facilitating interactions between members and MIT faculty and staff; and coordinating the research grant process.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: graduate degree in business, education, science, engineering, or related area; at least three years’ experience managing projects/programs; experience in corporations or with serving corporate executives; relevant membership/business development, resource development, writing, and community building experience; excellent organizational, interpersonal, strategic thinking, and verbal and written communication skills; self-motivation; and a history of building relationships with diverse stakeholders and crafting solutions to meet disparate needs.  Must be able to achieve community and/or revenue goals; move strategy to operations and detailed execution; and operate in a dynamic, fast-paced, highly-collaborative, and sometimes ambiguous environment. Quantitative and qualitative analysis skills a plus. Job #17242-Q

This is a two-year position which may be renewed annually or converted to permanent status based upon performance.
