The Centre for Research and Enterprise in Language (CREL) within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences, at the University of Greenwich, is seeking to appoint a full-time and permanent Academic Manager to lead and co-ordinate our summer and autumn pre-sessional English (PSE) Language courses.

We offer a range of PSE courses for international students (2 weeks, 5 weeks, 9 weeks and 13 weeks) and all courses are accredited by the British Council. You would be responsible for designing the curriculum, managing the delivery and lecturers teaching on the programme, ensuring that all appropriate processes are followed. You would work in collaboration with a range of stakeholders to deliver a high-quality experience for international students. You would need to work closely with the second Academic Manager who leads on our in-sessional English Language courses as well as a team of dedicated administrators who further support this provision.

It is important to meet deadlines within demanding timescales, ensuring that the courses are delivered in line with University regulations as well as British Council and UKVI requirements. Sound experience of co-ordinating pre-sessional English courses is required. You would need to be TEFLQ and hold a PhD in a relevant discipline.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and hardworking individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The role is varied and will suit an individual who enjoys a dynamic and busy environment. The role requires a positively minded team worker who can cope well under pressure and has the ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment.

We are also interested in hearing from candidates who are engaged with research and who could contribute to teaching and research activities as part of the Centre.

For informal enquiries, please contact Dr Zoë Pettit (Head of School) on Z.C.Pettit@gre.ac.uk

We are looking for people who can help us deliver our mission of transforming lives through inspired teaching and research, through our values.
