We are ranked in the top 1% worldwide1 and recognised for world-class research in business and management, applied economics, accounting, law, marketing and tourism2.

Studying a higher degree by research will provide you with a platform to challenge yourself, broaden your career opportunities, and make a positive and lasting contribution to society.

Overview

A Research Training Program domestic (RTPd) scholarship at the UniSA Business School will support you to investigate, design and execute innovative research to address real-world business problems.

You will create new knowledge under the guidance of renowned academics and highly experienced supervisors – experts who will mentor and guide you through your studies – and engage with industry, government and education providers to influence decision-making.

Home to established expert research groups including the Ehrenberg-Bass Institute for Marketing Science and Centre for Workplace Excellence, we are particularly interested in addressing research questions related to how brands grow, how individual choice affects society, leadership and organisational effectiveness, creating dynamic economies, developing global partnerships, informing practices in tourism and leisure, and business growth.

As part of your research degree, you can explore areas such as:

  • Accounting
  • Applied Economics
  • Finance
  • Human Resources and Organisational Behaviour
  • International Business
  • Law
  • Management and Corporate Social Responsibility
  • Marketing
  • Property
  • Sports, Tourism and Leisure Management

You may also have the opportunity to work with global research institutions across Asia, North America, Europe and the UK.

The practical experience gained through a research degree will help you achieve more in all aspects of your career – not only will you strengthen your skills and expertise, you will also challenge current thinking as a thought leader.

Our PhD also provides opportunities for enhanced skills development through the transformed PhD (tPhD) where you will interact with leaders across fields, engage with end-users and present your research to a panel of multidisciplinary experts.

1UniSA Business School is one of just nine institutions in the country and 180 globally to be accredited by EQUIS (from over 16,500 worldwide). EFMD, February 2019. 22015 Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA).
