Faculty / Directorate

The faculty is home to a diverse range of courses across three specialist schools, The School of Computer Science and Informatics, School of Engineering and Sustainable Development, and the Leicester Media School. Our courses are taught by experienced academics in professional facilities equipped with cutting-edge technology equipping students with the skills and specialist knowledge to solve real-world problems.

Role

The ideal candidate will work closely with the PVC/Dean on the leadership of the Faculty including defining the strategic direction and ensuring strategic development. They will oversee the day to day operational management of the Faculty in the absence of the PVC/Dean, including workforce planning, business risk management, budgetary control and student number planning. They will be a key player in the development and implementation of strategic planning and policy development across the whole Faculty as a member of the Faculty Executive team.

Salary to be determined by the Vice-Chancellor.

With a proven track record in academic leadership, you will have a keen appreciation of the current trends within the sector and the managerial wherewithal to span the exciting range of duties that this role entails. Your substantive background will be in one of the disciplines represented within the faculty, yet you will have the interest and empathy to be credible across all disciplines. Finally, you will share DMU’s passion to provide outstanding and inclusive outcomes for all of its students and staff.
