The World’s First Business School

In 1881, American entrepreneur and industrialist Joseph Wharton established the world’s first collegiate school of business at the University of Pennsylvania.

Wharton People Analytics (WPA) is an applied, interdisciplinary research center at the Wharton School. WPA works in partnership with organizations to conduct innovative research in the domain of evidence-based management and the psychology of work.

Reporting to the Research Director, the Research Coordinator for Wharton People Analytics at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania will execute day-to-day operations and all associated tasks related to multiple research projects. The Research Coordinator will work to support all WPA research streams, and contribute to the development of research plans, implementation of research designs, data collection, management, and analysis efforts, as well as collaborating with outside agencies and institutions. The Research Coordinator’s core responsibilities include conducting literature reviews, participating in the development and implementation of research study design, coordinating online research studies, cleaning and analyzing data, and drafting written summaries of research findings. The Research Coordinator will serve as the administrative core across multiple research streams and organize all study documentation, meeting notes, and correspondence for each research project. The Research Coordinator will also contribute to the intellectual life of WPA by brainstorming research ideas, sharing and discussing articles, and joining discussions about the latest work in people analytics and related fields.

Bachelor’s degree required / Master’s degree preferred; and 1-2 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Research Coordinator should have a serious interest in conducting academic research, and specifically in exploring how to use people data to solve problems around management, human resources, and the psychology of work. The Research Coordinator must be proactive, exceptionally detail-oriented, and bring a collaborative and cooperative spirit to bear on the advancement of WPA’s strategic goals and research agenda.
