Position Summary:

The Dean Rural and Remote Health will provide leadership in promoting and enhancing the profile of the Rural and Remote Health discipline locally, nationally and internationally and in fostering excellence in research, teaching, program delivery, and student services across the discipline.

The Dean will lead implementation of initiatives aligned with the vision for Rural and Remote Health and the strategic priorities of the College and University. The Dean will work collaboratively with the Vice-President and Executive Dean, other Deans, Professoriate, research and education leaders, academic and administrative staff to ensure that the Rural and Remote Health vision and aligned objectives are achieved. The Dean also has an accountability to the Rural and Remote Governance Committee in relation to shared, cross-College educational and student matters.

As a key member of the College Executive Team, the position will contribute to the strategic leadership and management of the College, and to the achievement of the strategic objectives of the College. As well as having a whole of discipline leadership role, the Dean will also lead the ongoing success specifically of Flinders NT including pursuing growth opportunities relevant to Flinders NT’s core focus.

In addition, it is a requirement of this position that the incumbent maintain a current Child Related Employment Screening which is satisfactory to the University in accordance with the Children’s Protection Act 1993 (SA) and an Aged Care Sector Employment Screening and a Vulnerable Person Related Employment Screening which is satisfactory to the University in accordance with the Aged Care Act 1997 (SA).
