Research Associate/Senior Research Assistant in the Department of Urban Planning and Design (Ref.: 494079) (to commence as soon as possible for 24 months, on a temporary basis for Research Associate and a fixed-term basis for Senior Research Assistant)

Applicants should have a Master’s degree, and preferably a Ph.D. degree, in Urban Studies or Housing Studies.  Experience in Asian housing or urban research projects would be a definite advantage.  The appointee will conduct research in housing and urban research projects in Hong Kong, China and the Belt and Road Region.  Experience in both quantitative and qualitative analysis is preferred.  The appointee will also assist in the administration of the One Belt One Road Urban Observatory.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  For the post of Senior Research Assistant, the appointment on a fixed-term basis will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary.  Please note that the University is not able to offer a relocation assistance package (including temporary University housing accommodation and a passage and baggage allowance) to the successful candidate recruited from overseas.
