The University of Southern Queensland is a young and vibrant University dedicated to providing education in a supportive and flexible environment. In just over 50 years, the University has become well recognised for its graduate outcomes and quality degrees and programs. With a commitment to student-centred learning and study options to suit students from across the globe to regional Australia, USQ has become a recognised leader in online and blended learning.

Comprising six schools, the Faculty of Business, Education, Law and Arts prides itself on its leading teaching, applied research and ongoing impact on the professions and communities it serves domestically and internationally. Strong and active ties with industry ensures that the Faculty remains at the forefront of current knowledge and thinking so that it can best equip graduates with the knowledge and expertise to enhance their employability.

With the consolidation of the School of Teacher Education and Early Childhood and the School of Linguistics (Adult and Specialist Education), USQ is now seeking a Head of School to lead the newly formed School of Education. As a member of the Faculty Executive Group, reporting to the Executive Dean, the Head of School (Education) will play a key role in successfully integrating the two schools, whilst shaping teaching across programs and embedding innovative and creative approaches to learning.  The Head of School will also work to strengthen the School’s research in line with areas of priority.

Your demonstrable experience in leading and inspiring teams and driving product growth through contemporary strategic and organizationally aligned approaches will ensure your success in this rewarding role. You will also bring a proven track record in building strong relationships with external and internal stakeholders, including funding agencies and industry partners.  Given the strong focus on online learning, prior knowledge of delivering online programs would be a distinct advantage. In support of USQ’s core values, you will also foster and champion a diverse and inclusive culture within the School.
