Position Overview

The Administrative Officer (Education) provides high quality student administration support to the Mathematical Sciences Institute (MSI). The MSI’s undergraduate and postgraduate education program offers mathematical courses at all levels with class sizes ranging from over 400 students in some of our first-year courses to just a few students in our more specialised advanced courses. The Administrative Officer (Education) plays an integral role in supporting the MSI’s student administration life cycle and the overall student experience. Additionally, this role will provide administrative support to several outreach events, including Maths Day, Open Day, the Canberra Mathematics Enrichment Program, the ANU extension program and summer research scholars.

The successful candidate will join an internationally recognised leading team of academics and will work as part of a supportive high-functioning professional staff team.

MSI is seeking applications from individuals who are highly-organised, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated attention to detail, well-developed IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and other online data management platforms.
