The Role

Hourly rate of £15.16 per hour plus holiday entitlement (bringing the total to £17.44 per hour)

Part time (14.8 hours per week, Mondays & Tuesdays) for a period of 8 weeks.  After this period work will be undertaken on a casual basis

Location: York

We are seeking enthusiastic professionals to work on a bank/sessional basis to support our permanent team during the busiest times of the academic calendar.

You will provide responsive, specialist mental health support to York St John University students who are experiencing emotional and psychological difficulties with the aim of helping students manage their psychological wellbeing in the context of their academic and university experience.

You will be part of a friendly, dedicated, professional multi-disciplinary Wellbeing Team (Counsellors, Mental Health Advisers, Welfare Advisers) working within the wider context of the University's Student and Staff Services directorate, and be able to work collaboratively and effectively as a supportive team member.

A psychological practitioner registered with a professional body (e.g. HCPC, NMC) you will have experience of supporting young adults with mental health difficulties. You will have a good understanding of the issues currently facing the Higher Education sector, and how these affect student wellbeing and mental health. You will have excellent clinical assessment skills, be able to manage a busy caseload and contribute to the development of the Wellbeing Team interventions on offer.
