The PV Technology and the Electromagnetics and Novel Applications Laboratories of FOSS Research Centre for Sustainable Energy of the University of Cyprus, announce one (1) vacancy for a full or part- time Special Scientist – Administrative support staff position (Technician) to work on the technical support of the research programmes of the above-mentioned laboratories.

It should be mentioned that one (1) month of full-time employment at the University of Cyprus corresponds to 140 hours.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school certificate (Apolyterion) – Secondary General Education/ Secondary Technical Education or
  • First Degree in Electrical Engineering.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Special Scientist - Administrative support staff (Technician) will provide technical support in accordance to the needs of the above-mentioned laboratories in electromagnetic field measurements, controls, installation of photovoltaic systems, as well as smart grids.

EMPLOYMENT TERMS:

The minimum monthly gross salary for full time employment (140 hrs/month) equals to €1200/ (€8,57/hr). The salary can vary depending on experience, qualifications. From this amount, employee contributions to the various Government Funds as well as any income tax will be deducted. The initial contract, which is on an hourly basis, is for one (1) year with the possibility of renewal based on successful progress. 13th salary is not provided.

At least the best three candidates that satisfy the required qualifications, will be interviewed by a 3-member Committee.
