To support the further growth of both the Amsterdam Campus and Newcastle Business School, we are seeking exceptional candidates who can contribute to teaching and research in the fields of Business Analytics and/or Marketing at the campus. The University is aiming to appoint up to three academics across three different fields of business in Amsterdam, of which this role is one. Appointments will be considered at either Senior Lecturer (grade 7) or Lecturer (grade 6). The appointee will lead and contribute to the delivery of Business Analytics and/or Marketing modules at postgraduate level. You will undertake research and scholarly activities contributing to the Faculty’s research profile and development of its next REF submission, together with contributing to consultancy, enterprise, and other income generation activities. You will contribute to the design, planning, teaching and module leadership of a range of modules including, Marketing Metrics & Analysis, Business & Sustainability Analytics, Business Intelligence, Responsible Marketing and / or Digital Business. If applying for the position of Senior Lecturer / Lecturer in Marketing, knowledge and experience of teaching quantitative methods is highly desirable. 

You must have excellent interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to teach effectively on a range of programmes using a variety of technologies and approaches to student learning. You must have (or be exceptionally close to completing) a PhD or DBA in a field relevant to the post ideally coupled with a record of high-quality publications and have clear plans to enhance your research through further publication, funding bids and knowledge exchange. Possession of a university teaching qualification such as Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (UK) or the Basis Kwalificatie Onderwijs (The Netherlands) or preparedness to acquire this qualification within a reasonable timeframe is essential. In accordance with the focus of the programmes we deliver in Amsterdam, an interest in responsible management and/or sustainability is desirable. 

The successful applicant will obtain the dual benefit of being part of a small and vibrant team at our Amsterdam Campus, whilst being embedded in the larger Department of Marketing Operations and Systems which operates across our 3 sites. The appointment will initially be made for a period of one-year. At the end of the 1st year there will be a prospect of a second year and/or permanent employment subject to satisfactory performance. The nature of the post is such that the post holder is expected to work and attend at the University’s Campus in Amsterdam such hours as are reasonably necessary for the effective discharge of the duties of the post.  The salary indication for grade 7 is € 4391 - € 5381, and for grade 6 is € 3800 – € 4266 per month, excluding 8% holiday and, but including allowances for commuting and pension plan
