The School of Law seeks to appoint two excellent and highly motivated legal scholars to professorship, with both candidates able to make an exceptional contribution to the Law submission in the REF2021 and to play a significant leadership role in research within the School.

LJMU’s School of Law is one of the most dynamic and innovative legal education providers nationally and internationally. We run a new gold standard LLB Law which is unique in the UK, as well as a range of highly successful undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The School is home to the Centre for the Study of Law in Theory and Practice (LTAP) (profiled at: https://www.ljmu.ac.uk/research/centres-and-institutes/centre-for-the-study-of-law-in-theory-and-practice).

If you are an ambitious and dynamic researcher with an excellent record of publications and innovative research ideas you wish to take forward, you will find in our School the thriving and supportive research environment you have always dreamed of staffed by nationally and internationally recognised scholars whose expertise covers a wide range of subject areas.

The successful candidates will be expected to generate high levels of research income, high-quality publications, networking and impact, as well as to contribute to the enhancement of relevant undergraduate and postgraduate curricula according to their expertise.

We are interested in candidates from any area of Law and we would like to learn from each candidate how they could advance the School’s research in the context of LTAP.

We envisage that the interviews for this post will be held during w/c 23 March 2020.

If you wish to discuss this job opportunity, you are welcome to have a confidential conversation with the Director of the School of Law, Professor Carlo Panara (t: 0151 231 3649; email: C.Panara@ljmu.ac.uk).

LJMU is an equal opportunities employer and welcome applicants from all background and communities irrespective of age, transgender status, disability, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity and religion or belief.  All our appointments are made on merit.

Please note all of our vacancies will be closed to applications at midnight on the advertised closing date, unless otherwise stated.
