Lancaster University is seeking a Disability Advisor (Frontline) to join the Disability Service within Student Wellbeing Services. You will lead on support for disabled students on the new Frontline postgraduate Social Work programme.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and professional individual to provide specialist advice and guidance to disabled students and work to implement and facilitate support.  You will play a key role in developing and implementing new service processes to support the Frontline programme that work alongside existing service processes, so knowledge and experience of service development is essential. Excellent communication skills will be required to ensure effective partnership working in particular with our external partner Frontline and other staff involved in the Frontline Social Work degree.  Strong administrative and IT skills will also be critical to enable effective service development and delivery.

You will work as part of the team but also independently and you will need to use your initiative and problem solving skills to find unique solutions to new situations and challenges. Educated to degree-level or equivalent, you will need relevant experience in a customer-facing role and an understanding of the Equality Act 2010, relevant funding frameworks and the higher education sector. Understanding of Social Work education and practice education settings would be an advantage. As part of the Disability Service, you will work to promote inclusive teaching and learning so knowledge of inclusive practice would be beneficial.

The role will involve some work away from home for short periods on university business as well as occasional evenings and weekends.

This is a two year fixed term appointment.

We welcome applications from people in all diversity groups.
