I. About BNU

Beijing Normal University (BNU) is a key university directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education that is renowned for teacher education, education science and basic sciences and humanities. It is among the first batch of universities of China’s “Project 985” and Category-A list of the “Double First-Class” initiative to build world-class universities and first-class disciplines. Currently, the university is vigorously building a high-caliber system for the development of disciplines and a “one university, two campuses” pattern where the Beijing Campus and Zhuhai Campus complement and reinforce each other with different areas of focus. The Beijing Campus focuses on basic disciplines and applied disciplines, while the Zhuhai Campus is striving to be a global institution up to high standard with new mechanisms and a southern campus of BNU on par with the Beijing Campus.

BNU established its first postdoctoral station (for mathematics) in 1991. Currently, there are a total of 28 postdoctoral stations, covering mathematics, Chinese language and literature, physics, biology, geography, world history, pedagogy, psychology, environmental science and engineering, systems science, theoretical economics, chemistry, philosophy, drama and film, political science, foreign languages and literature, public administration, sports, Marxism, astronomy, computer science and technology, Chinese history, ecology, statistics, art theory, law, business administration, and sociology.

II. Categories

  1. Liyun postdocs: The Liyun Postdoctoral Program is a high-end postdoctoral program of BNU designed for exceptional candidates with good moral character, strong innovation capabilities, and PhD degrees in first-class disciplines of top universities outside Mainland China, in Grade A+ disciplines of Chinese universities in the “Double First-Class” initiative, or at equivalent research institutes. The fellowships are funded by BNU.
  2. Category-A postdocs: Applicants should qualify for admission into the postdoctoral station of the potential host department and pledge to meet the evaluation criteria for leaving the station. The fellowships are jointly funded by BNU and each host department (department and mentor through negotiation).
  3. Category-B postdocs: Applicants should meet the basic requirements for postdoctoral fellows in China. The fellowships are jointly funded by the host department and mentor based on the needs of research projects.
  4. National program postdocs: The fellowships are jointly funded by BNU and national special funds for postdoctoral fellows, such as the National Postdoctoral Program for Innovative Talents, Postdoctoral International Exchange Program, Postdoctoral International Exchange Fellowship Program, Hong Kong Scholars Program, Macau Young Scholars Program, and China-Germany Postdoctoral Exchange Program.
  5. Zhuhai Campus postdocs: Backed by the postdoctoral stations (level-1 disciplines) at Beijing Campus, the full-time postdoctoral positions available for relevant level-2 disciplines at Zhuhai Campus are open to applicants from all over the world.

III. Eligibility

  1. Applicants should hold PhD degrees from well-known universities or research institutes within and outside Mainland China. For Liyun postdocs, applicants should be exceptional full-time graduates with PhD degrees from overseas universities which are among the top 100 in the four internationally recognized university or discipline rankings of the year, namely the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, QS World University Rankings, the US News & World Report rankings, and Academic Ranking of World Universities; or PhD degrees in Grade A+ disciplines of Chinese universities in the “Double First-class” initiative, or from equivalent research institutes.
  2. Applicants should be in good physical and mental health and under the age of 35, have held doctorates for less than 3 years, and be able to devote full-time effort to the research programs at BNU.
  3. Applicants for all types of postdocs except Category-B shall meet the admission criteria of the potential host.

IV. Remuneration and Benefits

  1. Liyun postdocs: An annual salary of RMB300,000 (pretax). BNU provides each Liyun postdoc with a rent subsidy of RMB50,000/year for them to rent apartments based on the availability and market price. The successful candidates can register their children for Beijing Normal University Kindergarten New Campus Branch (Shahe) or Changping School Affiliated to Beijing Normal University (Shahe) during their stay at BNU.
  2. Category-A postdocs: An annual salary of RMB180,000 (pretax).
  3. Category-B postdocs: The successful candidates can discuss with the potential mentor and host department about the salary and then keep BNU informed.
  4. National program postdocs: For each successful candidate who makes it to the Postdoctoral International Exchange Program and the National Postdoctoral Program for Innovative Talents, the pretax annual salary rises to RMB350,000, in addition to a rent subsidy of RMB50,000/year for them to rent apartments based on the availability and market price. The successful candidates can register their children for Beijing Normal University Kindergarten New Campus Branch (Shahe) or Changping School Affiliated to Beijing Normal University (Shahe) during their stay at BNU. For those who are selected into other national programs, the renumeration and benefits will depend on the type of programs and relevant policies.
  5. Zhuhai Campus postdocs:

(1) Category I:

The annual salary is RMB400,000 (pretax) for exceptional candidates with good moral character, strong innovation capabilities, and PhD degrees in first-class disciplines at top overseas universities, in Grade A+ disciplines of Chinese universities in the “Double First-class” initiative, or from equivalent research institutes; or those who make it to the National Postdoctoral Program for Innovative Talents, Postdoctoral International Exchange Program, or equivalent programs.

(2) Category II:

For each successful candidate who qualifies for Category-A postdoc admission criteria of Beijing Campus and pledges to meet the host’s evaluation criteria for leaving the station, the annual salary is RMB300,000 (pretax).

(3) Each successful candidate is entitled to a research start-up fund of RMB50,000.

(4) Apartments for rent are available to successful candidates. The successful candidates can register their children for Jinfeng Primary School or Jinding Junior high school during their stay at BNU.

V. Procedures

Any interested candidate can submit an application to the potential mentor or host department; the host department will organize a preliminary review and make public the shortlist, and then BNU will conduct comprehensive evaluations such as expert evaluation to determine the successful candidates.

二、博士后招聘类别

  1. 励耘博士后：为我校重点打造的高端博士后项目，招收国外（境外）顶尖大学一流学科或在国内双一流建设学校的A+学科及相当水平的科研机构获得博士学位且具有良好的思想品德、创新能力的优秀毕业生。经费由学校资助。
  2. A类博士后：为符合各用人单位进站遴选指标评估要求，且承诺达到各用人单位出站考核评估要求者。A类博士后在站期间薪酬福利费用由学校和用人单位双方共同承担。其中，用人单位自筹部分的费用由用人单位与合作导师协商承担。
  3. B类博士后：需满足国家关于博士后遴选的基本要求，由用人单位和合作导师根据重大教学科研平台和科研项目建设等需求自筹经费资助。
  4. 国家项目博士后：由国家博士后专项经费和学校共同资助，入选项目类型包括国家博士后创新人才支持计划、国际交流计划引进项目、国际交流计划派出项目、香江学者计划、澳门青年学者计划、中德博士后交流项目等国家统一设置的各类博士后人才项目。
  5. 珠海校区工作博士后：我校依托北京校区相关学科博士后流动站（一级学科），在有博士学位授予权的专业（二级学科）范围内面向海内外招收，并派往珠海校区全职开展研究工作的博士后。

三、职位基本要求

  1. 在国内外知名高校或科研机构获得博士学位。其中，励耘博士后为在国外（境外）世界大学综合排名或学科排名前100的高校获得博士学位（以当年度最新的国际公认四大全球大学排行榜：泰晤士高等教育世界大学排名Times Higher Education World University Ranking、QS世界大学排名QS World University Rankings、U.S.News世界大学排名U.S.News& World Report、上海交大软科世界大学学术排名Academic Ranking of World Universities为参考）或在国内双一流建设学校的A+学科获得博士学位的全日制博士毕业生及相当水平的科研机构获得博士学位的优秀毕业生。
  2. 政治立场坚定，身心健康，年龄在35周岁以下、获得博士学位不超过三年、进校后须全职在北京师范大学工作。
  3. 除B类博士后外，其他各类博士后原则上要满足各用人单位进站遴选指标评估要求。

四、薪酬待遇

  1. 励耘博士后年薪30万元（税前）。学校为励耘博士后提供租房补贴5万元/年，并可根据房源情况以市场价租住博士后公寓。正常在站期间可为其符合条件的子女办理在北京师范大学实验幼儿园新校区幼儿园（沙河）或北京师范大学昌平附属学校小学部（沙河）入学（园）。
  2. A类博士后薪酬标准为年薪18万元（税前）。
  3. B类博士后薪酬标准由博士后本人与合作导师及所在用人单位共同协商确定，报学校备案。
  4. 国家项目博士后：入选全国博士后管理委员会“国际交流计划”引进项目和“博士后创新人才支持计划”者年薪提高至35万元（税前），提供租房补贴5万元/年，并可根据房源情况以市场价租住博士后公寓；正常在站期间可为其符合条件的子女办理在北京师范大学实验幼儿园新校区幼儿园（沙河）或北京师范大学昌平附属学校小学部（沙河）入学（园）。其他类型国家项目博士后由国家博士后专项经费资助，根据入选的项目类型和相关政策兑现待遇。
  5. 珠海校区工作博士后：

（1）第一类：

在国（境）外顶尖大学一流学科或在国内双一流建设学校的A+学科及相当水平的科研机构获得博士学位且具有良好的思想品德、创新能力、突出成果的优秀毕业生；或为入选国家博士后创新人才支持计划或者博士后国际交流计划引进项目或同水平的人员。此类博士后的薪酬为40万元/年（税前）。

（2）第二类：符合北京校区现有A类博士后进站标准，且承诺达到各用人单位出站考核评估要求的博士后其薪酬为30万元/年（税前）。

（3）在站期间，珠海校区提供每人5万元的科研启动费。

（4）珠海校区为博士后提供租住公寓。

五、遴选程序

经海内外公开招聘，个人向合作导师或用人单位提出申请，用人单位初审选拔并公示，学校组织专家评审等环节对拟候选人进行综合考察，确定最终入选人员。
