The University of Lincoln was awarded HEFCE Strategic Development Funding to establish a new School of Engineering at its Brayford Campus in the centre of Lincoln in 2009. This is a ground-breaking initiative, in collaboration with Siemens and other employers in the engineering sector that seeks to develop engineering education for the 21st century. The School combines Mechanical, Electrical and Mechatronics Engineering and offers undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees as well as conducting research, knowledge transfer and employer engagement.

The School of Engineering at Lincoln is research focused and encompasses two specialist research groups: Industrial Digitalisation and System Intelligence, and Sustainable Energy and Power Systems. We have funded research programmes with a diverse portfolio of UK and International funding bodies and organisations. Current projects include remote monitoring and fault diagnosis in industrial systems; intelligent vehicle control; laser techniques in materials and manufacturing; renewable energy; biofuel development; advanced combustion; intelligent control of industrial refrigeration systems; wireless sensor networks for agri-tech applications. A successful applicant will have demonstrable experience in a research area that aligns with our portfolio.

The School of Engineering seeks to appoint a permanent Lecturer/Senior Lecturer with established teaching expertise in Engineering Mechanics and CAD/Technical Drawing to deliver across our undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes. In addition to teaching duties there will also be an expectation to support wider School of Engineering activities such as pastoral support for students, open days, and other recruitment events.

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to further develop their teaching and research experience in a rewarding and dynamic environment, with access to excellent facilities and strong industry links.
