Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Full Professor in Education and English

The School of Education and English is now seeking exceptional scholars to join us as Assistant Professors / Associate Professors / Professors in the fields of Education and English.

About the School/Department

This is an exciting opportunity to join the School of Education and English, an interdisciplinary environment which celebrates expertise across all aspects of language and pedagogical study.  The School was founded in 2019 with the merger of our excellent programmes in Applied Linguistics, TESOL, International Higher Education, and Translation and Interpreting.  We include undergraduate study in Applied Linguistics, Literature, and English for International Business, and we run PhDs in all areas of our expertise, along with the professional doctorate in Education (EdD).

We are very pleased to support research within any of the areas the School represents, but actively encourage projects which go beyond disciplinary boundaries, including collaboration with other faculties.  Some of our key specialist areas are Multilingual Education, Cognitive Neuroscience of Language, Systemic Functional Linguistics, Intercultural Communication, News Translation, English for Academic Purposes, and many more.

About You

We seek to appoint academics who are self-driven and results-oriented, adaptable and creative, with internationally recognized intellectual contributions in their areas. You will be a dedicated collaborator with a commitment to teaching excellence, willing to contribute in your own area as well as on team-taught modules, from foundation level to postgraduate.

We are particularly interested in candidates seeking to build research teams to attract local and international funding, and we likewise encourage cooperation with other research institutions in China and worldwide.  Outreach activities for professional and industry engagement are also welcome, as we are similarly dedicated to working with partners outside of the university.

Your Remuneration, Benefits and Support

Successful candidate will be offered a five-year contract that may be extended by mutual agreement.
