Northumbria School of Design has a global reputation for design-led research with an emphasis on practice, understanding and redefining problems, and making positive real-world change. Our staff, students and collaborators engage in developing new and innovative practices within design, and in innovation and research through design. Our staff have pioneered original approaches for evolving design research practices, emerging technologies, craft, co-creation, participatory design, and responsible design practice. The School is an inclusive and vibrant contributor believing that Design is essential and transformative in Society and we aim to make a real difference through our research and education in a thriving community of academic, technical support staff and students.

We are seeking to appoint outstanding individuals to join our dynamic community and particularly interested in applicants with research and practice that will contribute and extend our research and practice capabilities in Graphic Design. The role invites a leading scholar to help direct and lead new interpretation and drive for traditional subjects, shaping the contemporary and future Graphic Design practice at Northumbria.

You will have an advanced understanding of Graphic Design practice demonstrating the requisite academic knowledge and practice required to evidence your expertise within Graphic Design. You will be instrumental in developing new research projects, collaborations with external partners and your own high quality research outputs and be committed to contributing to the School of Design’s research agenda, global network and reputation.

You will be an inspirational teacher who can work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
