The University of Lincoln’s National Centre for Food Manufacturing is a major resource for the UK’s food manufacturing sector delivering skills, research, and support for innovation in partnership with over 250 leading food businesses. Our provision is focussed on the delivery of Apprenticeships for the food sector and short courses for food industry professionals. Apprentices study on a part-time basis, with distance learning supported by block release the platform for delivery and many of our short courses are delivered at distance. Associate Lecturers must therefore be competent in the use of technology to deliver and support teaching and learning.

To support the successful delivery of our diverse range of programmes, that are continually evolving, we require the input of various professionals and subject matter experts. Associate Lecturers carry out a valuable role in supporting the delivery of the Academic Programme and are engaged for the delivery of formal scheduled teaching and teaching related activity in their specific subject area. Dependent on the individual skillset and requirements, duties could be involved in activities including developing the teaching content, marking, programme review, peer support and teaching, undertaking tutorials and student reviews and engaging with employers in support of student progress.

Specific to this role

An individual is required to teach management principles and practice to apprentices undertaking the ILM Team Leader (Level 3) and Operations/Department Manager (Level 5) Apprenticeship standards and other management related modules or short courses.

Services are required initially for a fixed-term period from February to July 2022. The requirements are likely to be on average 6 to 12 hours per week but flexibility is a key requirement.  It is possible that the contract could be extended beyond this period.

Interviews for this role will be held ‘in person’ at Holbeach on the publicised interview date.
