The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences is passionate about the principles and application of science and technology in all its forms and strives to be excellent in research, teaching and innovation. One of five departments within the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, the Department of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation has particular strengths in health and wellbeing, the role of exercise and physical activity in the management of chronic health conditions, exercise recovery and neuromuscular adaptations, the optimisation of human performance, and informing practice and policy within sport and health contexts. Working within the Department of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation, you will provide research leadership in the area of Sport and Exercise Psychology.  As a senior Academic colleague, you will assist the Faculty Pro Vice-Chancellor and Head of Department to maintain, enhance and improve the University’s national and international reputation in your academic field. You must demonstrate continuing academic attainment and achievement and provide academic leadership (of your subject and associated colleagues), through active contribution to your discipline and to the life and work of the Faculty and the wider University. This will include contributing to significant change within practice, the discipline, profession and/or community at regional, national and international levels.

To be successful in this role you will have externally recognised research outputs of a quality that are internationally excellent and/or world leading in terms of originality, significance and rigour, and demonstrable success in securing research funding. You should also demonstrate academic leadership experience and strong standing with external bodies and networks in your field.
