About the role

The Faculty of Health provides an exciting and innovative learning environment working with individuals, families and communities in order to meet their health needs and requirements. The Faculty is distinctive for its multidisciplinary understanding of client care, commitment to the prevention of disease and promotion of healthy lifestyles and working with Indigenous colleagues to develop culturally appropriate models of care.

The Faculty offers fields of study across a broad range of health-related professions including nursing, midwifery, social work, community welfare, biomedical science, clinical exercise physiology, diabetes education and management, naturopathic medicine, occupational therapy, osteopathy, psychology, speech pathology, and sport and exercise science.

The Associate Lecturer/Lecturer conducts innovative undergraduate and postgraduate online and face to face teaching of anatomy and physiology units, across multiple courses across the Faculty. The role will also contribute to the research and/or scholarship of teaching profile of the Faculty through their publications and undertake relevant engagement and service activities to support the Faculty.

This position is available at our Lismore, Gold Coast or Coffs Harbour locations, with both regions offering the very best of an Australian coastal lifestyle. Generous relocation support is available for the successful candidate if relocating to one of these regions.

Lecturer – Level B: the remuneration package for a Lecturer appointment is up to $140,609 per annum (inclusive of base salary $101,544 - $120,179 per annum and 17% employer's contribution to superannuation).

Associate Lecturer – Level A: the remuneration package for an Associate Lecturer appointment is up to $112,992 per annum (inclusive of base salary $71,728 - $96,574 per annum and 17% employer's contribution to superannuation). Appointees with a PhD would have a minimum salary of $90,112 per annum.

About you

Applicants must hold relevant postgraduate qualification (PhD or doctoral studies) in anatomy and physiology or closely related area of relevance to human health. 

You will be proficient in contemporary educational technologies and have significant teaching experience at undergraduate level in anatomy and physiology. Possessing demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills, including the ability to work within a team, you will be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.

A commencing track record in research or teaching scholarship, including where possible publications in peer-reviewed, highly ranked journals. For appointment at Level B, you will have an established track record in research, as evidenced by grant applications, publication output and supervision of research students.
