University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit a Manager for Researcher Training and Development in Graduate School.

Your Responsibility

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver a series of training sessions/workshops to sizeable, mixed interest groups or groups with diverse levels of understanding of the subject matter; may have responsibility for a programme of skills-based training;
  • Be familiar with updates of the University of Nottingham Quality Manual requirements as well as broader researcher training frameworks, and make informed adjustments and updates to the provision of researcher training programmes at UNNC;
  • Design and develop a comprehensive suite of researcher training programmes that meet the needs of postgraduate research students and early career researchers and supervisors at UNNC in accordance with Quality Manual requirements and in reference to the researcher training programmes available at the University of Nottingham UK and the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus;
  • Analyse and interpret data using various techniques; identify trends, test solutions, source additional related information where appropriate, and report progress through briefings or formal reports.  

About You

  • Ph.D. from an overseas university or Sino-Foreign University, where the postgraduate research education system is similar to the UK system;
  • Excellent communication, writing, and speaking skills in English;
  • Experience in developing and delivering training workshops to postgraduate research students and early career researchers;
  • Familiar with the difference among different postgraduate education and training systems in different countries, e.g., UK/US/China, etc.;
  • Experience of working in the higher education environment or training experience in the industry.

You will initially be offered a fixed-term contract of 3 years with a probation of 6 months with University of Nottingham Ningbo China with effect from February 2022 or as soon as thereafter.
