Fixed term position for 3 years.

The Australian Plant Breeding Academy (APBA), which is a joint strategic partnership between the University of Adelaide’s School of Agriculture, Food & Wine and Australian Grain Technologies (AGT) is seeking to launch its breeding and research portfolio by appointing a recent PhD graduate with experience in plant breeding.'

The successful candidate will be required to develop a breeding and research program aligned with APBA priority crops and traits.

The APBA through its conduct of agricultural and food research and development will lift the capability of the agrifood sector across Australia maximising grower profitability for the future.

To be successful you will need:

  • PhD in plant breeding or closely aligned discipline.
  • Demonstrated practical research excellence in plant breeding.
  • Demonstrated ability to write research reports and/or research publications.
  • Excellent organisational, time management, intercultural and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion.
