Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Associate in the Human Potential Translational Research Programme (HPTRP), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.  The HPTRP aims to bring together researchers from a wide range of disciplines with an interest to maximise human potential. In HPTRP, focusing only on human studies, we aim to adopt a holistic perspective that considers human potential as an integrative measure of health, productivity, performance, human capital and overall well-being over the lifespan, in our environment. Appointments will be made on one-year contract, with the possibility of one-year extension.

Purpose of the post

The Research Associate will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigators and study team members to ensure the successful completion of projects on time. The RA’s principal role will be to work in general practices such as recruitment of volunteers for the projects, data collection, data entry and analysis and drafting of publications and reports.

Main duties and responsibilities

The Research Associate will liaise with the relevant personnel to smooth the process of recruitment and data collection and will be accountable to the Principal Investigator(s).

The Research Associate will:

1. Support the conduct of laboratory trials and field trials;
2. Provide administrative and secretarial support to the project, such as data collections, volunteer recruitment processes;
3. Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with policies and procedures; 
4. Maintain regular communication with other members of the research team and collaborate at the study sites and conduct human trials;
5. Perform literature review, data analysis and drafting of reports and publications;
6. Work at different study sites, depending on the needs; and
7. Work beyond routine work hours due to the nature of our research.

Qualifications  

1. The applicant should:
2. have a Master’s degree, preferably in sports science, life sciences or related disciplines;
3. preferably have some experiences in research especially in conducting human trials;
4. be able to work independently and in a team;
5. have an investigative nature and detail-oriented;
6. have knowledge of computer applications, e.g. SPSS, MS Office.

Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience
