The United Arab Emirates University invites applications for a faculty position. Qualified candidates at all levels will be considered at a rank commensurate with academic accomplishments. Candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and student advising at the undergraduate and graduate levels, a demonstrable research capability that will enable the candidate to develop and sustain an internally and/or externally funded research program in his/her area of expertise, publish his/her research findings in refereed journals, and actively engage in promoting the growth of the UAE University. The College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS), United Arab Emirates University is a research intensive medical school situated in the city of Al Ain, 160 km east of Abu Dhabi and 120 km south of Dubai. Known as the ‘Garden City of the Gulf’, Al Ain is based around the ancient ‘Burami Oases’ which have a history of settlement going back to over 5000 years. It is a modern city with every amenity and with over 100,000 hectares of trees and plants. English is widely used in the UAE. The Medical School was founded in 1986 and is housed in a purpose built state-of-the-art facility with the mission to “train medical graduates and postgraduates of internationally recognized quality, specifically attuned to the needs and aspirations of the UAE and its culture. This is to be achieved by excellence in teaching, research and service directed to the needs of the community”. English is the language of instruction. The appointee will be involved in all phases of medical education at CMHS, including curriculum and course planning, lectures, tutorials, seminars, practical sessions and in facilitating problem based learning sessions.

Minimum Qualification

Applicants must have an earned doctorate in the applicable field. The ability to teach undergraduate courses is a must. Industrial and professional experience is a plus.
