You would be joining the Psychology department at a time of growth within in our provision both in Edinburgh and overseas. As a result, we are recruiting a new Lecturer to become a valued member of the Psychology team. We welcome applicants with research interests in any area of psychology.

The role

As a Lecturer in Psychology you will join our vibrant Psychology team. You can find more details relating to the research activity and staff interest on our blog and university webpage. Within this role, you will conduct individual and collaborative research projects, contributing to the research profile within our School, leading to the production of high quality and impactful research outputs.

You will be responsible for developing, designing, and delivering teaching and student-centred learning underpinned by academic scholarship and professional practice within your assigned areas of responsibility. These will include possible contributions to our undergraduate BPS accredited Psychology and Psychology with Sociology programmes, and our BPS accredited MSc in Applied Forensic Psychology, and our MSc in Applied Criminology and Forensic Psychology.

Who we are looking for

We will look for demonstrable evidence of research or teaching specialisation in psychology and we would be keen to receive applications from candidates that complement or enhance the expertise of our team. Candidates with experience of qualitative and quantitative psychological research methods are welcomed. You must provide evidence of a professional academic research profile that is commensurate with the stage of your career alongside a commitment to sustained continuous professional/academic development.

You will hold a doctoral level qualification in a relevant Psychology discipline evidencing sufficient breadth and depth of experience in Psychology subject areas to develop high quality teaching/learning and research programmes and have experience of research-informed teaching and/or training.

You must be able to demonstrate evidence of teaching and learning enhancement initiatives you have developed or been involved in which will directly support the University Strategy of enhancing student experience and increasing graduate employability, should you be successful.
