The School of Health Sciences is part of a highly successful and vibrant faculty. Frequently commended for our partnership working across the health and social care sector, the School delivers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses that lead to registration in nursing, midwifery, health visiting/school nursing, speech and language therapy, operating department practitice, and paramedic science. We also have a wide portfolio of post qualifying provisions including the MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice, and the MSC in Interprofessional Healthcare Simulation (due to commence 2022). The Faculty’s Institute of Lifecourse Development brings together researchers and practitioners from Health, Education and Human Sciences to tackle a range of life course related issues, providing a key forum for the School’s research and knowledge exchange. 

In response to  NHS workforce needs the School has led on the development of apprenticeship programmes for nursing and midwifery and has seen a growth in apprentice numbers over the past year. We are therefore seeking an experienced registered nurse who has the ambition to develop their role as an educator and is interested in working with our partners to develop and support our nursing apprentices.  

Successful applicants will have opportunity to complete a PGCHE and progress through our GOLD framework to achieve HEA senior fellowship, as well as contribute to faculty wide research and enterprise activities.  Opportunity also exists to undertake doctoral studies through a professional doctorate or PhD programme.
