The International Partnerships and Student Recruitment Professional Service Unit welcomes applications from International Development Managers.
About the Role
The International Development Manager (Europe and Central Asia) is responsible for developing and implementing a strategy for recruiting new fee-paying students from Europe and Central Asia.
The primary focus of the strategy will be on the growing and managing a portfolio of partnerships with higher education institutions (HEIs) across the region to recruit fee-paying students to Cranfield. This will be achieved by maintaining a database of all formal and informal partnerships across the university; learning from successful partnerships and identifying new opportunities to exploit these insights. Our academic staff play a key role in developing relationships with their counterparts and therefore, you will work also closely with colleagues to co-ordinate such initiatives in the region.
You will also manage the activities of regionally based agents; develop strong relationships with external agencies, such as funding bodies and attend recruitment events to engage with students directly in the region.
You will proactively develop and manage a wide range of key internal and external relationships, devising and delivering partnership activities, including managing complex inward and outward visits for senior colleagues, VIPs, agents and international student visitors.
This role requires evidence-based decision making and therefore, in conjunction with the Senior Marketing Manager and Marketing Partners, the post-holder will measure and analyse the performance of recruitment activities as part of an ongoing review of recruitment performance in the region.
The University aims to be renowned for its impact and influence - regionally, nationally and internationally. To achieve this aim the International Development and Recruitment team within IPSR is responsible for developing, informing and delivering the University’s international and student recruitment strategy. You will have plenty of experience in international student recruitment and will know how to attract and engage high quality international students from a range of markets. You will represent the University internationally, contribute to the University’s innovative and effective internationalisation strategy, raising its international brand and profile and be a key member of the team responsible for the achievement of the University’s targets for international student recruitment. You will also be able to demonstrate success in developing and managing effective international networks and external relationships as well as being a skilled diplomat with deep cultural awareness.
Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have excellent communication and networking skills being comfortable identifying, researching and building relationships across a range of stakeholders including students, local representatives, Government organisations, partners, alumni and sponsorship bodies. You will be experienced in higher education international student recruitment and you should be used to working to meet tight deadlines in a pressurised customer focussed environment.
