The University is seeking to recruit two new academic posts in the field of Games Design and Development to join the Games and Digital Media team in the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences. The posts are for those looking to embark on, or continue an academic career, lecturing on our undergraduate games and digital media programmes, as well as the opportunity to engage with enterprise initiatives or conduct quality research. Desirable candidates will have a background in multiple of the following areas: Good general game development skills, with experience in Unity and Unreal. Candidates will be able to demonstrate exceptional abilities in multiple of the follow areas: A high standard of C# and/or C++, game development design concepts, VR, AR, Shaders, Multiplayer Networking, Technical Artistry, Mobile Development, AI and Pathfinding Techniques. Exceptional candidates in related areas will also be considered.

Successful candidates will work closely with academic teams at the School of Computing & Mathematical Sciences and will be expected to contribute to existing teaching, research or enterprise activities. These posts will be allocated to one of the University career pathways: Teaching and Scholarship, Enterprise or Research. Candidates will be expected to develop contacts with industry and engage in relevant networking and employability events as well as contributing to the development of the programmes.

You will be able to demonstrate a strong teaching and, research or industrial experience profile in relevant subjects with a PhD in Computer Science, Games or related field OR substantial industry experience with appropriate professional qualification OR substantial Higher Education teaching experience in a related field.
