The School of Health Sciences is part of the highly successful and vibrant Faculty of Education Health and Human Sciences. Frequently commended for our partnership working across the health and social care sector, the School delivers a range of undergraduate and post graduate courses across nursing, midwifery and allied health. We also have an extensive CPD offer including a Master’s in Interprofessional Simulation, a Post-graduate Diploma in Enhanced Clinical Practice and our flagship Master’s in Advanced Clinical Practice. The University is a HEE accredited Centre for Advancing Clinical Practice.
Due to growth in our post-graduate offer we seeking an experienced advanced practitioner with a passion for education, to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be joining a highly experienced team and an organisation that is committed to widening participation, equal opportunities and social inclusion.
The successful candidate will have opportunity to teach in our newly opened simulation centre, Greenwich Learning and simulation Centre (GLASC), the School nationally recognised as a Centre for Excellence in Healthcare Simulation. You will also have opportunity to engage with the expertise of our academics located in the Faculty’s ‘Institute of Lifecourse Development’ which brings together researchers and practitioners from Health, Education and Human Sciences to tackle a range of lifecourse related issues.
The post has two main components: teaching on our post graduate clinically focussed courses, with a specific emphasis on teaching advanced clinical assessment skills. The post also involves development of innovation through, teaching, research and enterprise activities.
The person appointed will be registered with one of the following healthcare regulatory bodies: NMC, HCPC, GPC, GMC, You will have experience of teaching in a professional practice context and looking to extend this to a higher education setting. We are looking for a motivated individual who has a passion for education, research and enterprise, who is looking for opportunities to be supported in their personal and professional development as an educator and researcher.
Full or part-time considered, including joint appointments or secondments, with agreement from your current employer. The post holder will have opportunity to benefit from the University’s continuing professional development offer, with opportunity for promotion to Associate Professor for appropriately qualified and experienced candidates, through the University’s career progression pathways.
