Position overview

The ANU School of Music seeks to appoint a world leading Lecturer/Senior Lecturer and Program Convenor in Jazz and/or Contemporary Performance, to contribute to the strong research profile and successful teaching programs in music, and to work closely and collaboratively with colleagues in performance, music technology, musicology, composition and composition for film and video games.

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate internationally benchmarked excellence in Jazz and/or Contemporary performance in either instrumental or vocal idioms, as well as a track record of publications and a clear research trajectory relevant to the field. The successful candidate will undertake research supervision at MPhil and PhD levels, as well as engage in a variety of service activities, including performances, public events, recruitment, and outreach.

The School of Music, at the Australian National University (ANU), offers, Bachelor, Honours, MPhil and Doctoral programs in music, with undergraduate majors and Honours specialisations in performance, music technology, musicology, composition and composition for film and video games. The ANU School of Music is focused on graduate supervision in these fields, and has a strong focus on both published scholarship and practice-led research, as well as a number of outreach programs that have a significant national and international impact. The ANU School of Music is a leader in music making with the First Nations of Australia.
