Macquarie University is seeking an experienced academic for a teaching and research position with a focus on Early Childhood Leadership, Policy and Pedagogy.

  • Salary Package: Senior Lecturer (Level C) / Associate Professor (Level D)

Macquarie University is seeking an experienced Academic for a teaching and research position with a focus on Early Childhood leadership, policy and pedagogy. The successful applicant will engage in an active research program and supervise research students, contribute to curriculum development and teaching across the School of Education's undergraduate and postgraduate early childhood courses, engage in service activities within the University and their professional community, and contribute to the School's outreach activities.

About You

You will have completed a PhD or evidence of equivalent recognition in early childhood leadership, policy or pedagogy. You will have a good track record of delivering high-quality learning and teaching in early childhood leadership, policy and pedagogy with a track record of quality publications. Previous experience teaching in early childhood environments is essential. Selection Criteria for Senior Lecturer - Level C applicants:

  • A PhD or evidence of equivalent research recognition in early childhood leadership, policy or pedagogy
  • A well-articulated research agenda and a track record of publications in high-quality journals
  • A demonstrated ability to secure research funding
  • Demonstrated academic knowledge in the discipline and ability to develop and lead scholarly and innovative approaches to teaching and learning
  • Record of engagement and fostering relationships with relevant external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience to make a useful contribution to the academic life and administrative tasks of the School with a track record of effective teamwork
  • Experience with research student supervision

Selection Criteria for Associate Professor - Level D applicants:

  • A PhD or evidence of equivalent research recognition in early childhood leadership, policy or pedagogy
  • A well-articulated research agenda and an excellent track record of publications in high-quality journals
  • A demonstrated ability to secure external research funding and a record of competitive grant successes
  • Demonstrated academic knowledge in the discipline and ability to develop and lead scholarly and innovative approaches to teaching and learning
  • Record of engagement and fostering relationships with relevant external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience to make a useful contribution to the academic life and administrative tasks of the School with a track record of effective teamwork
  • Extensive experience with research student supervision
  • Experience and interest in interdisciplinary research (desirable)
